Trained in Ann Arbor & Detroit but originally from Brooklyn (and currently living in Williamsburg) Lucas A. Ortega aka Dr. Rendezvous was the original turn of the century resident deejay at the influential East Village launching pad, Element Zero. Along with David M_xon and The She-Devil he was a founding member of Spelunk Recordings, the early NYC electro label which featured producers Chromatix, EMS, Her aka The She-Devil and Antfactor releasing the EP's "Life-Like" and "Anti-Static". As a member of the Ob.Scene Event Promotion Team, Dr. Rendezvous has been privileged to share the stage with performers such as Hell, Layo & Bushwacka, Adult, Khan, Ectomorph, Chicks on Speed, Peaches, DBX, Bill Velin, Dan Orestes, David Hollands, Aux88, DBX, Plexus, Mike Bryant, Ulysses, The Horrorist, Shane Delinks, Sol Provider, T-Mac, Tim Baker, PJay, Heather Heart, Frankie Bones, Adam X and many more.

One of Dr. Rendezvous' most popular achievements on the turntables are a collection of highly peer reviewed mixed deejay sets recorded from 1999 thru 2008 called 'The One Shot Series'. When asked about them in an interview for The Loop, he described them as his "observations of a non-essential subculture." Included in The One Shot Series are the mixes 'Night Club', the electro mix 'Give Me A Show', 'One Shot: The Main Mix', 'All Things Shining', 'Maiden Williamsburg', 'Variable' 'Out of Aces' and the final mix 'Compliance'.
